Life just doesn't stop, does it?

A month ago, I wrote a piece over at The Beat that means quite a bit to me. It's a bit about the business flood, but mostly about the reasons why my shop is still around.

Because let's face it: Variant Edition should be dead right now.

The store has been through three forms of ownership, three different moves, an ongoing pandemic, and a flood - all within the span of nine years. For most small businesses, any single one of those events would have taken them down - but not VE.

Mid-spring. The start of the parking lot also being dug up when they found “voids”.

The new piece talks about how we got through to the other side, and the lessons that the comic book industry as a whole could take from our journey. It is the third piece of an unintended trilogy about the shop's time in limbo and where we find ourselves today, which began with David Harper's kind feature on SKTCHD, and Adam Freeman's interview we did over on Comic Industry Insiders.

All three combine to give a full picture of where we are, and where we are hopefully going.

Now we just have to get there.

Please wish us luck.

Talk with you soon.
